curiosity survey....wristwatches

Curious to see if others on the board have the same discerning taste and appreciation of wristwatches as they do in automobiles.
What watch(s) do you have for:
1. everyday / work
2. business
3. special occasions /dress up

Re: Wristwatch survey

1. 17 year old stainless steel with white face Seiko Chronograph with tachymeter and stopwatch given to me as a high school graduation present in 1986 - despite the scratched glass it has an undated look to it and was cleaned and reconditioned for my 33rd birthday last year. Seiko in Japan were amazed to hear my jeweller request a replacement glass for a watch so old!
2. As above, but may alternate between that and a stainless steel and gold Citizen dress watch with Roman numerals.
3. The Citizen mentioned above.

I detest digital watches in any way shape or form, and refuse to buy my daughter one after seeing a kid in my class wearing a digital watch because he could not read a dial watch.

My aim is to one day buy a Breitling Navigator.

Cheers

JOHN

Re: curiosity survey....wristwatches

For work, sometimes I wear my Timex Expediton. I wear it sometimes casually as well, but one day I shall have my Rip Curl watch with a dial for tide as well (surf's up dude, time for a dawn patrol!). For dress, I've got a great Fossil that my girlfriend gave me, the Architect. Black face with no numbers... looks very nice.

I feel the same way about digital watches! Besides, the dials (and espically Roman Numerals) look better anyway.

Re: curiosity survey....wristwatches

i've got a healthy obsession with watches (and jewelry too). for everyday use i switch off between an Omega Schumacher Speedmaster chrono and a Bvlgari aluminum chrono (good for the college kid outfit). dressier occasions such as dates and dinners with important people call for a Cartier Tank Francaise or the timeless Rolex Submariner in stainless steel. i'd like to one day acquire an audemars or a patek, or even a breitling 50th anniversary (just for my collection) but the cars keep cutting into the funding for those items :P

Casio w/world time - databank-telephone# storage-

compass- and so on. Bought in Taipei. I was a watchmaker for 10 years, seen enough, so watches don't impress me anymore...

daily: Longines VHP conquest - most accurate ...

this is the most accurate watch you can buy. It has two crystals to compensate for temperature as well as keep time. It gains about a second a month. Never needs winding. Never runs down. Similar movement to Krieger Marine Chronometer (no longer made).

Oops! I'm a Omega mad watch fan which includes

I wear a Omega Speedmaster in 18k rose gold with black dial as my everyday watch.
I have 20 vintage Omegas.
And my best watch I wear out to functions and parties is the Patek P.
Complication. Costed me about $30000.00usd.
I also love the Sector Golden Eagle in complete Titanium with 7750 movement!

Seiko Kinetic for everything

It looks dressy, people think it's more expensive than it is, are impressed with the skeleton back, never needs a battery, it's waterproof, and I've worn it every day for 5 years and it doesn't have a scratch or ding anywhere.
