Monthly meets at Pappas BBQ used to be popular
but they kinda died off this past year due to lack of a leader to get the word out and send reminders. A few cars still show up on nice days, but we used to get 30+ cars each month. They were/are the second Saturday of every month at 3PM, I won't be in town this month and it's gonna be cold this weekend so I doubt anyone will show up. When the weather starts to warm again, I'll try to get the word out revive the meets.

Vegas for business?
I lived there for a year and a half before I moved to Dallas (two years ago), so let me know if you need any info. Things change a ton there in short periods of time, but I try to keep up.

Hobby now...
I'm going to CES (Consumer Electronics Show), I've not been in the CE business for over 10 years but I love the technology and I love Vegas...so it makes for a good "guy" trip with a couple of old audiophile friends. I'm not a huge gambler but do like to play blackjack for a little while after dinner each night. I prefer casinos that deal either 7 deck out of the shoot (I hate the constant shuffle machines at the higher end places like Bellagio) or Double deck. Hard Rock is my current favorite because the music and the people there. I had very good luck last year and won quite a bit for a small timer like me :)

Hard Rock people-watching is priceless...
I'd go down there occasionally, usually for concerts, and loved to watch the "I'm cooler than life" L.A. crowd saunter through. My UNLV hotel law professor, a really hip, early-30s beauty, coined my favorite Hard Rock description: "On a weekend at midnight, you couldn't throw a stick through there and not hit at least 8 of 'em!" Wonder what she was referring to...hmmmm. It might not be legal in Clark County, but the H.R. doesn't do much to keep the classier, more attractive 'ladies of easy virtue' from congregating near the casino bar. As every smart businessman knows, serve the needs of your clients...

Lincoln, i go to vegas very often...
not much of gambler myself but i do blackjack as well. The venetian has good 'ol fashioned hand shufflers and it's 6 deck. I made a fair amount this last trip, but blew it all on partying the last night or so. I figure it's not really money i earned so it's best spent on booze or similar ilk. We should coordinate and meet up there sometime. It's really packed right now though. I think IBM has a convention. The electronic show as u mentioned was there and i think the porn convention was around the same time as well. I come into Vegas every chance i get. New Years was very nice in Vegas, although i did have a small run-in with the law. Well, perhaps we'll run into eachother sometime. Take care
