I got it on Tivo, also some other races on soon...

will be watching it this weekend.

what is the deal with the Supras being V8s though? can someone give me a brief once over on the car specifications. Also, the lower class looks wild. the Porsche looks like a GT-3RS, but has a rear diffuser, and has a sequential shifter.

    here is what I found:

2001 All Japan GT Championship regulation (Digested version)
This digest is based on “2001 All Japan GT Championship Unified Regulations” and “2000 JAF Domestic technical Regulations” issued by JAF. Therefore this regulation is not official, please refer to the original version for official information. The regulation may be subject to change during the season.

    TECHNICAL REGULATION

There are various cars which can enter the ALL JAPAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP; here, we will introduce the regulation for basic JAF-GT regulated cars. In the following paragraphs, the regulations are of JAF-GT unless otherwise mentioned.

Cars acceptable for All Japan GT Championship are 2 door, 2 to 5 seated FIA/JAF authorized vehicle, JAF registered vehicle and cars specially authorized by JAF and needs to be in accordance to 2001 JAF Domestic Sporting Code "Chapter 4 - Common Regulations" and "Chapter 5 - Safety Regulations". Modification must be in the limit of "Grand Touring Car (JAF-GT Regulations)" and any modification beyond this is strictly prohibited.

    # BODY
Must maintain the form of the base chassis. The minimum modification of chassis due to the change of engines. Bulk head must be kept as the original base chassis. The bonnet, trunk hatch, and the doors can be changed to carbon or aluminum as long as it does not excessively change the form. Attaching a louver (a cutting in a form of a groove) or lips to cool the engine is permitted. In this case, it must not stick out of the frame work, must be below the total height, and not exceed 20mm. When it is permitted in the regulation, and when it is used in the base chassis or the base engine; the use of carbon, synthetic resin such as Kevlar, and titanium and ceramics is permitted.

    # WINDOWS
Except for the front view window, the fabrication does not necessary be glass as long as it is clear and transparent. It is forbidden to change the position or the shape.

    # FRONT SPOILERS / REAR SPOILERS (WINGS)
The fabrication of the additional front and rear aerodynamic parts are free to choose. Front spoiler must below the center line of the tyre, and not stick out from the bumper. The form of the rear wing must be in one piece, and the cross section of the wing needs to be with in 40cm x 15cm dimension (Wing tip board is separate) (plan) Width must not exceed the longest width of the base chassis. The fabrication is free to choose. Aerodynamic parts should not be set on above the rear trunk or the rear fender (unless, using the original parts unmodified from the base chassis). The rear diffuser must be with in 130cm wide, and not higher than 20cm from the road surface.

Fenders and side skirts can be extended up to 50mm from the original base chassis. Fender and the side skirt can be in one piece. The side skirts can not be floating from the body, and must keep the minimum height above ground. The material of the side skirts are free to choose.

    # FUEL TANK
It is obliged to use the safety fuel tank authorized by JAF or FIA. Maximum capacity is 100 litres; set in the original setting position, cargo space, or between the wheel bases and must be isolated by the fireproof wall from the driver and the engine room.

    # WEIGHT of the CARS
Minimum weight of the car is determined according to the model of the engine, displacement volume, the mounting position, and the size of the restrictor. Minimum weight can be changed by the combination with the restrictor. Once the car qualifies the scrutiny, no change can be made during the race week. Weight of the car mean how much the car weigh being able to drive with lubricant and coolant, and with out the driver and fuel.
