Need advice for first time on a track...

I have a black E39 (530) with stock wheels and I'll be tracking my car for the first time in the next few months:
-Can anyone provide a link or info as to which parts I should be taping up to protect my car?
-Can anyone give me an estimate as to how much tread you lose from your tires (just want to know what to expect)
-Should I expect to add oil and brake fluid even if my car doesn't usually need any in daily driving?

Appreciate any advice/help, thanks in advance.

    Here ya go...

Definitely bring an extra quart of oil just in case. My M3 only seems to burn oil at the track.
If your brake fluid is fresh (<6 mos) then it should be fine for your first time out. After that, bring a spare liter or two of ATE superblue, a presssure bleeder, and a drain hose in case you need to bleed them. Some tracks are harder than brakes on others.

Definitely tape your fog lights and headlights if you don't already have XPEL or the like on them since they can be expensive to replace.

The entire front bumper and leading edge of the hood are likely to be attacked by giblets if you follow someone closely. The mirrors take a bit of a beating, too. If you follow someone really closely at the apex of a corner, you could even get attacked by gravel.

I bought a quart of this clear latex paint-on stuff but never tried it before getting the M3 for track duty, which already had a ton of chips on the front end. Sadly, I lost the link for where I bought it, but I have heard that sex shops carry it.
