Police contacts to sign off tinted windows?
I got a "fix it" ticket the other day from a CHP at the 880/238 intersection for having lightly tinted front windows on my 540. Short of removing the film, having a cop sign off, then reapplying the tint some time later, does anyone have any friends in the police dept. that would sign off on this and save me the intermediate removal step?

You actually expect a response?
If I understand your question, you're looking for a peace officer to suborn perjury so you don't have to remove an illegal tint? I imagine they'll be lined up to help you out on this.....

how dark is your tint? 50%, 35%, or 15%?

that isn\'t bad.. read on for more
my sister was driving my car and got pulled over... she didn't have the windows rolled down and the cop was a little pissed about the tint.. instead of citing her for the car the cop mailed me the ticket for having the tint.. and it wasn't a fix it ticket though.. it was just a straight fine about 120 bucks.. my suggesting is to just rip the tint off yourself... but if your in the mood i know a good shop in the east bay that will probaly remove the tint for free given that you go back to them to have the window retinted..

Hey darkbeat, can you refer me to your guy in the East bay for tint. Im new in bay area and was wondering whats the legal tint and the common tint %'s???

in CA, 70% on the front windows.
No limit on the rear windows and back window. I put on 50% all around. I may be way over the allowable amount on my front windows since they were already tinted to begin with.

I was sited for side front window tint. A sheriff
friend say that NO window tint is alllowed on front side windows. The reason being that at night it is almost impossible for an officer to see you in the car. I wish I had the vehicle code in front of me. BTW, first time over here. Didn't know it existed.
