Did you ever stop to ponder what if, someone (govt or otherwise) decided YOU had more than you need such as belongings or money, and they tried to take away what you have earned or for that matter inherited? Its not up to you or anyone else to decide what any particular individual deserves financially, or maybe thats where the real division becomes clear. You want to play God and decide for others where their money or property should be distributed?
Maybe its justified if a thief steals from you because he has less just to make things "fair", even if he doesn't feel the need to work for it.
Where does progressive taxation stop? How many programs have been federalized and work better and more efficiently than they did before that? Its a very short list. Do you think the govt. is wiser with your/our money than you/we are?
If you think the USA would be better off with Kerry the Ketchup boy running the show.... I for one am certainly glad you live somewhere else and are not a registered voter in America. He has money and so does Slick Willy but do you see them handing over the excess to back up what they "say" they believe in? We all know the answer to that one.
History has proven that raising taxes progressively or not, does not stimulate the economy, lowering them does.

It is actually very sad that you are so unhappy, you feel the need to whine and complain about the greatest country on earth that continues to prosper. If it's so bad here, why do so many people from all over the world want to come here to excercise the free enterprise system we are so proud of?
You are so hasty to preach about progressive taxation and distribution of wealth and that the rich should somehow support the poor with their excess. If you had done your homework you would already know that a flat tax in the 17% range is the most fair approach for everyone. No, allowing entitlements for the poor to milk off the harder working among us isn't fair, sorry to dissappoint you.

Think before you speak, and be glad you can do it freely in America unlike many, many other places that cannot. Remember that big wall that our greatest President Ronald Reagan brought down and all the people were whining about how much money was being spent?
