Dallas Dealer Moving Info...
Just came across this on the E39 board and thought it might be of interest to some of you in the D/FW Metroplex. My vote is still for Autobahn in Fort Worth! Link below.

The correct link is above. BTW...
I had copied that link and e-mailed it to a friend because I just couldn't believe how some people think. I bet that one threw some people off!

Re: Dallas Dealer Moving Info...
My feeling is that this market is badly underserved and could use at least one additional dealer!
An additional dealer would force JR and Classic to be more customer friendly. For most of us, Moritz and Autobahn are just not convenient.

Re: Dallas Dealer Moving Info...(long)
That's really close to me and, in theory, would be very convenient. Too bad that their service dept. is so half-@ssed. I'll still make the drive to Moritz where they make an effort to give customer service, rather than running you through there like an assembly line.
I had a simple phantom "Check Engine Oil Level" light coming on in my x5, seems like it would be easy enough to diagnose and fix, right? Wrong. I had it in there 5 times with no luck. Made an appt. with Moritz, explained my situation with Classic, and they replaced everything that could be causing the failure, rather than Classic's try one thing at a time/waste my time approach. Haven't had the problem again. Makes me really uncomfortable when I have to explain things to my service advisors.
John Roberts, although they at least tried to give the illusion of good customer service, still was a pain. They did try to be nice and personable with me when i brought the car in. But, I had my navigation unit break. I have nav-tv. So, of course, they blamed it on nav-tv. i asked them to try another nav unit in my x5 to be certain. They took a pass and recommended i use an aftermarket stereo shop and possible try to slip an alpine nav unit in there. LOL. yeah, that would work. Took it to Moritz and they got it fixed for me.
I didn't buy my x5 at any Metroplex dealer but Moritz was the only dealer that had the foresight to realixe that i would probably be buying another one in the time that i live here. I'm still not excited about their no loaner policy but at least they care about their work.
BTW, I never tried Autobahn but I've heard good stories about them, as well.
OK, I'm done venting. Sorry I turned this into "rate your dealer". : )

Seriously...in SoCal I had dealers on every corner
I agree that the Plano/Frisco area really needs a dealer due to the quick growth up there (and rather upscale at that). But those of us near downtown/Park Cities could use one up on Central (near Land Rover Dallas) or down here on Lemmon (near the Audi & Park Cities Jeep dealers). The current Classic location is a PITA because of the 75/635 mess, and John Roberts isn't much better in having to deal with I-35. Hopefully they'll add another once Classic goes north. My car needs a service and I've been wanting to see the Modern, so next week it's Autobahn & the museum.

The problem with my idea...
That's some damn valuable property now...You know this better then I do, but if you tear down the buildings (not necessary, but just hypothetical) the land would probably sell for about $800K-1M/acre (maybe more)??? Go anywhere closer to Harry Hines or Love and it would be tons cheaper.

You got it...
And you wonder why the new Aston Martin dealership is being built out on Lemmon Avenue near Inwood instead of Uptown or Oak Lawn closer to Turtle Creek. It's crazy down here!

Great. What a PITA! :-(
I'm sure its probably the right thing for them to do. And easy to check. All they have to do is see where the zip codes of their customers are.
But its a royal pain for me. I work just north of Classic and its extremely convenient where it is now. I live downtown, so Legacy is painfully far from where I live, though I suppose GHWB and the Tollway will make it tolerable to get there.
Well, at least it will take them a while to get up there.

I was there yesterday getting parts...
...and just looking at the smug service advisors made me want to slap a few of them around. I can't believe that customers get lousy service and still give them all fives so they can be a "Premier Dealer". They suck and they know it.
I bought a $70 part and will fix my car myself, because I don't trust those pricks. I was offered a free service or full detail ($200), because of the lousy job they did with my wife's car. I declined because I didn't want more oil spilled on the engine or more swirl marks left in the paint. Unless it is a major problem that CPO will cover, my car is never going back. I am not as worried about my wife's car because it will be returned to them in two years. I'll have documentation if they do anything to hurt the resale. Lousy ******s. I hate 'em.
Great sales staff, though. Too bad I can't just buy a new one instead of getting ours serviced..._________________
