    M5 Subs

Has anyone used the m audio subs in an e39 with an aftermarket amp. If so please report your experiences. I am planning to do this soon, so I would like to know how everyone likes it.

I posted this in the audio forum as well but no answers. Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    I used the Alpine mrv-t320.
I'm very happy with the sound, to me it sounds much better then dsp, with lots of low end.
    Good luck

did you ever investigate upgrading your amp to a dsp version? is that even possible just to use w/o the dsp options but just for more power?

I tapped onto the rear outputs from the head unit(bmwtips.com wiring)
and into the line inputs of the Alpine amp.

Yes, butt not shure if the conectors match, and the Alpine was cheaper.

    Gigz,

Do you know the specs of the m subs. I know they are dual voice coil, so how do you wire them. If I got am amp with only one subwoofer channel would it be adequate to run two subs, or only one. Also, do you get any engine noise or other problems.

    Thanks

    Re: M5 Subs

I don't know the specs. There wired in parallel (+from the amp to both +'s of the sub, and the same for the -)As far as the single sub channel you can only run one sub.
I have no problems or any engine noise whatsoever.
