Dumb engine compatibility query

Hi - does anyone know whether you can drop an M20 and box straight into an E3? i know it's not a desirable side-grade, but i've got to go 1500ks to pick up an E3 with a terminally shot engine. i've got an E12 with an 2.5 carbie M20 and i was going to take that, do an engine swap, and throw the rest of the E12 away. My other option is to swap a M30 and box into the E12 and do it that way, but the former saves me the hassel of the extra engine swap. Anyone know whether the mounts etc will match up? I *think* you'll have to fab mounts. AFAIK, the small 6 and big 6 use slightly different mounts. You'd think I would be more certain, since I have an M20 car and 3 M30 cars... ;-)

Hi - thanks for the response - you've got the same problem as me... 1 M20 and 3 M30 cars. The thought of pulling the M20 out to sit it on an M30 subframe, just to see, didn't really appeal. Anyway, guess i'm in for two engine swaps to get my E3. Cheers.
