Re: Uh Oh... (F1 OZ practice 1)

I don't want to over react but over 1.5 second difference between Ferrari and the rest of the field! Williams reports "lack of grip". How could they dominate during offseason testing with the new 26 car and show up at the first race with "lack of grip"? Sounds like the excuses start again.

Am I missing something?

I know what you mean. The rear of the Wills was

sliding alot yest in the practice. But they were also running a very Simple wing setup in the rear (even w/ new rules)as compare to other teams. Not sure if I am correct but I'm checking the pixs.

Anyhow, one saving grace is that they are notoriously average the 1st couple practices but seem to pull through for qualies.
& the others teams are in the same range behind Big Red so grip could be affecting the other teams too.

This is why you can never count Ferrari out. They are the Champs & they have to be beaten. Else it's all talk. sniff sniff....

actually what it means is tire war

and Bridgestone did their homework.
With the sheer size of the Michelin fronts , you might as wll strap a pair of Honda Elements to the cars! can't be good for the cx.

Re: ah, the black art of sandbagging!

I'm rooting for Williams so I hope you're right, but Montoya seemed pretty pissed. Saw the practice on SPEED, and when he came in to the pits at the end he lit up the rears and almost hit a mechanic. Should be an interesting qualifying session.

Dirty Track

Michael went off 3 times, yet he still qualified higher. Friday is always like this, bad day Friday good drive Sunday. Good drive Friday, bad drive Sunday.
What will be interesting is this years rules about the lack of extra engines available for testing, maybe ferraris will grenade.

That's an interesting point. What happens if your engine blows during practice/qualifying? Are you done for the weekend?

grid position= qualifying position minus 10 spots

so if you had pole you would be on the outside of the fifth row.
