    CTS-V devours its first course

"With an appetite for victory, the CTS-V racecars topped the podium in their dominating debut in the SCCA World Challenge GT race at Sebring. Racing against the world's best performance and luxury cars, drivers Max Angelelli and Andy Pilgrim not only had an outstanding one-two finish, but also broke track records for the series."

    Well . . . .

Three cheers for Cadillac, but let's not forget that series is designed to equalize the competition. It isn't surprising that the marshalls might have miscalculated initially and lent a well-financed factory team a bit of an advantage. Weight penalties, etc., will kick in.

Which all leads to the question, what does the series really prove about who has the best car? To me, it is not the winner, but the car which remains competative with the least amount of conversion from stock form. Thus, allowing the NSX to run with a supercharger was almost ridiculous, while the Vipers and Corvettes seem to be allowed the fewest alterations from stock trim. Seems logical--can we really expect a four door sedan to run with a dedicated, two-seat sports car?

    AUDIGUY WILL BE FURIOUS

Funny how Audi seems to dominate classes where they only run against themselves!

He just has to wait for the weight penalties . . .

. . . to be imposed on the cars that are actually fast ;)

That car is a joke.... not even close

If that cars relationaship to the street car was anywhere close to what the M3s is it would be struggling to be mid pack.

SCCA gave away the farm, and got down on their knees for Caddilac with that car.
GM must have issued them some Caddilac logo knee pads.

I'm all for more & different cars,,, but come on,,, that thing isn't even close to what the car really is.

Lets see if they (SCCA) hammer that thing like they did the PTG cars last year.
I kinda doubt it. Caddilac may take back their SCCA sponsorship.

    Cheers

    I wouldn\'t . . .

. . . talk much about the M3 right now, seeing as the best one finished 20th (ouch). Much as I love the I6 as a stree motor, it doesn't have the grunt to compete against the V8's in normally aspirated form. Time for the V10 M5 to enter the fray . . .
