    hey viv!

    hmmmm was wondering what sound option you had in your 5er?
    did you get some kind of an upgraded package or something?
    just curious
    well spent all yesterday (and part of this morning)
    installing the head unit / amp / speaker wiring / amp wiring and wow was it a p.i.t.a.
    but well worth it
    honestly the 16 year old speakers aren't that bad... for being that old i mean
    so i was thinking it would be good for you to just get a head unit and if bass is needed (not excessive of course)
    maybe a single 10" subwoofer with a 300W amp
    which you can find for a pretty decent price (on all of it)
    i'm sure your stock speakers can handle it =)
    after all we are driving bimmers

    Hey Ian!

    I have the stock radio plus CD player. It's not a bad system at all, but I would like to give it a boost! I just need to go to some audio shops and see what they have and tell me and decide from there. Thanks for the info. I'll keep it in mind. ;-)

    oh noooo audio shops!! evil!

    hmm maybe buy the parts and bring them to get them professionally installed, unless you don't mind paying retail :)
    but retail prices really suck

    ohhhhhh yes yes very good idea! (what i did also)

    i personally liked the selection at magnolia hi fi (to the right side of arden mall)
    they have a lower end room and an upper end room :)
    enjoy, always fun to see all the nice gadgets
