Mirror courtesy light (aka puddle light) question.

According to the manual, the outside mirror lights (standard on MY03 and MY04) come on at the same time as the interior lights. In other words, if the interior is turned on (by opening a door or by pushing the button), the outside mirror door lights also lit up.

Both lights on my X5 do not light up. I checked the fuses and found one labeled as "Courtesy mirror light" and it is still good. I opened and closed the doors and pushed the ovehead light button but nothing showed up. Could it be that if one bulb is burned out the other won't work either? The reason I'm saying this because my driver's side mirror was replaced recently and I am suspecting the tech did not re-connect the mirror light harness properly. Could this be the cause?

Could someone with a MY03 or MY04 please check yours and let me know how these lights work? Or am I doing something wrong.

    Thanks guys!<br>

Hit remote unlock, both interior and mirror lights

will turn on. Opened front doors, both interior and mirror lights will be on. Turn off ignition and if headlights was on prior to turn off ignition, interior and mirro lights will be on. Turn on the interior lights from the inside of car manually, mirror lights will not be on. If the airbag deployed, interior lights, mirror lights, turn signals will all be on, Xenon lights will be off (could not test and verify that one, only read from the manual :-)

Puddle light test results are in...

I checked my MY04 4.4, and both puddle lights illuminate, whether via opening the door or hitting the remote. Perhaps a reconnect or bulb issue?
