DFW Dealers - Any recommendations for Newbie

Newbie - Just got a 2001 330 CiC. First BMW. The car has been serviced at Classic so far.

1)I was looking for inputs and recommendations on BMW Dealers and Service Advisors in the DFW area. Any good experiences?

2)Also, is there a monthly meet of any kind for the Dallas area BMW drivers? I would be interested in joining. I read on this board that there used to be one at the Pappas BarBQ. Is it still on? Can I get more information?

I moved to the Fort Worth area from one of the Dallas burbs about two years ago, and found Autobahn (on White Settlement near downtown) to be a refreshing improvement over the different shops I was using in the east side of the metromess. In my experience, I've found them to price parts fairly, and the service is consistently good (as opposed to hit or miss service at the other shops). But if you live east of the mid cities, might be hard for you to use them.

As far as Pappas, only been twice I think. Found the crowd to be a nice bunch overall, but it's basically the "I'll live with mom and dad till I'm 80 to pay for this M3" crowd standing around admiring their cars, hoping they're being noticed by the guy in the pickup driving by. lol Mostly in their early/mid twenties, and somehow all driving M3's when most didn't even look old enough to be IN college, must less out of it and holding down a real job. :-) YMMV.

I bought both of my cars at Autobahn and drove from home (Uptown area of Dallas) to Fort Worth for the first service. It's a trek, but it's nice to know the car is being taken care of and they loaned me a 325i for the short trip to check out the Modern museum and have lunch. Autobahn's a top-notch operation and I won't even consider Classic or John Roberts.

originally they were not filled with teenage M3 owners, but we live in Dallas and Dallas is a plastic city (full of $30K millionaires)...so wadda you expect. I was going to try to get the word out and revive the meets but I'm thinking about trying to find someplace more central in the DFW area to hold them (be more inclusive of the Tarrant County BMW owners). Any ideas of good car club spots in the mid-cities or Grapevine/Colleyville/Southlake area would be good.

However, unlike Dallas 540i6 I chickened out and decided to try Classic for the 1200 mile service on my M3. I was pleasantly surprised. They were very professional, friendly and thorough.

I am not very familiar with that area, but how about anywhere near the Grapevine Lake. What kind of spot wud be appropriate? I have never been to anything like this, so no idea. How many cars shud we expect?

I agree with you, I just moved from NY to Plano and I went twice to Classic and I think they have done a good service in my car.
I'm looking to buy a new 330Ci with ZHP from them, I hope to get a good deal. I heard good things about Autobahn here.

They have been nothing but true professionals in all my dealings with them. They treat my wife and her Coupe the same as they'd treat me, and I haven't found many dealerships or service departments I can say that about.
