    Michelin \"Secret Sauce\"

N E was else think Michelin is working closely with Renault for special compounds for the Renault team???

I think they are, can't prove it, but.....Renault certainly has better grip than Williams BMW.

Why would Renault get preferential treatment?

    French Connection

Suspension and tires are crucial for grip, and the Renault is better than the BMW with the similar suspension.

Which leads me to believe Michelin is supplying a different compound to Renault.

    Both French companies.

Hmm, interesting theory. But that would be fore

saking every other team using Michelins, not just Williams/BMW. I don't think the other top teams would allow that to happen. 91 325i "Cashmere"

    Renault Results

    Improved dramatically over WilliamsBMW.

BMW producing more HP than Renault.

Conclusion is Renault has better grip in the corners.

Renault already developed a unique design with their suspension and Michelin was involved.

Rick, U R a "newbie" to this board, if you have been following F1 like the rest of us, U would of known this.

Rick, U better respect the elders on this board B 4 opening your smart lip, OK?

    Re: Renault Results

Perhaps Renault has a better driver or their engine has more torque which helps in those low-speed corners.

Sorry, I don't have much respect for your posts at all.

By the way, congrats for getting three of your recent posts on the E60 board closed.

    Let's See

Took Jarno Trulli 119 starts for his first win. JPM won last year after 2 years in F1, and JPM very successful in CART as well as Indy 500 winner.
RS also has 6 wins, and will defend his win next week at Nurburgring.

    Next stupid comment please.

Your posts are not very enlightening either "Paul Bracq Fan" time to find a modern designer and quit admiring the past designers, 6 series E24 was his shining accomplishment with BMW.

Deleted post, No big deal, more to come.

    Re: Let\'s See

Why are you telling me who to admire? I like Henrik Fisker and Ian Callum.

I like the BMW Turbo concept and the E24 and Paul's other cars.

I could truly care less about Chris Bangle (except for the E46). He has ruined part of BMW, imo.

Why didn't he just copy the 911?

Who freaking cares if Henrik Fisker is helping Mercury?

Doesn't your $500/year Automotive news tell you that stuff?

    WRONG

Last year, due to their chassis set up, wide engine, lower CG.... Renault was able to use softer compound tires.

    Stop your BS, please.
