    Independent service/repair shop in Sac?

Any good recommendations for a independent service/repair shop in Sac (actually, I live in Elk Grove)? I just bought a used E39 and I need some recommendations on a good and HONEST operation. I tried Autostatt European on Arden Way. They seemed to do a good job, but I don't know that I can trust them (e.g. I had a brake light indicator come on and the service manager told me that I needed a front brake job. It cost $490.00 and some change. He told me it was so expensive because they replace the rotors. I asked if the rotors could be turned, but he told me that "you don't turn rotors on BMWs... use just replace them"). I am a pharmacist, so I don't know a whole lot about cars but that sounds fishy to me? Reluctantly, I paid... but I feel like he may have been B.S.ing me to make some money on marked-up parts (I saw a Neilo invoice sitting on his desk). I'm not even sure I needed a brake job... after they were finished, the brake light indicator was still on!. I had to wait another 30min for them to figure-out why it was on... "something electrical" is what I was told. Anyways, any suggestions would be great.

I have used German Motors Co. on Folsom Blvd at Watt for a couple of years. Been in busness for 40 yrs. and seem to be honest and reasonable. But I am like you, never quite sure.

May want to try Western Engineers in Elk Grove...

Ted (the owner) is a great person to work with and he knows his stuff when it comes to working on BMW's. Small shop dedicated to BMW's...great attention to detail...prices are more than fair. I won't take mine anywhere else.
