    Good drive suggestions around DC area?

    Can you all recommend ( experience, resources, online or print) some good fun drives around the DC area?

    Mileage doesn't matter as long as there is some fun roads.

    But seriously, you need to contact the NCC, your local BMW CCA chapter brothers. They are a very active chapter, constantly doing drives and other events...not to mention they have a bunch of really great people supporting their organization.

    You can always try the SkyLine Drive

    Our DC Metro 8 group went there last fall and had a blast. We will do another one on July 3rd. There is a winery with gread food if you like BBQ.

    I have mapped out some great drives around DC. Some are in Maryland and some Virginia. The roads are fun, twisty and scenic. If you use Street Atlas USA (Delorme) I can send you the file or if not, I can send you the text file instead.

    Blue Ridge Chapter of BMWCCA Wine Tasting

    The Blue Ridge Chapter BMWCCA had a wine tasting 5/08/04. We visited Sharp Rock, Farfelu, Gray Ghost, and Rappahannock Cellars, and had a great time. I don't have the route as a file. A good VA atlas will allow you to plot the route.

    I\'ve always liked the GW Parkway at sunrise...

    And on the weekend, there isn't too much traffic... but it is kind of short.

    Some Good Roads

    I am also a BMW Motorcycle fanatic, and luckily good motorcycle roads tend also to be good driving roads. Here are some pointers:
