ya know something.....(a bit long)
when I was in the market for a rader a few years back (when I had my 86 325es) I did quite a bit of commuting back and forthe from Regina(where I live), to Moose Jaw saskatchewan(where I had my summer job for 2 consistant years.
On the second year I decided to get a rader considering that I did so much highway driving (which that car was the very best at). Considering that I did not want to spend that much $ on a whistler, he interested me in a "Fuzzbuster" rader detector..
When he 1st told me about it, I was all like "WTF is that sh*t, I want something that's actually gonna work, and not just make random beeping sounds whenever I approached a shopping center"!
He asured me that for the 100 bucks or so (CDN that is), I was getting a good radar detector.
The summer went by, as well as a few other road trips, and every time I had that thing, I had realized that it had successfully saved my a$$!
After teling my buddy (the one who sold me the radar from future shop where he works, he told me that Escort actually made the Fuzzbuster radar detector, and that's why the price was soo low! Considering that the radar has every available option, includion traffic warnings (which I cannot use in Regina, cause the City's too cheap to use that type of upgraded technology) as well as a hoard of other options, I had realized what a great deal I had got on a rader!
I'm gonna use it again on the way out to ********** this June, and I'm sure it'll pay for itself many times over!
If you don't believe me, just do a google search, for the Fuzzbuster. The one that I got was the highest model, and included all the toys on it. If you get it, I'm sure you'll be pleased!
of you have any q's about it, just email me!

Re: ya know something.....(a bit long)
in the summertime watch out for air surveillance.
saw some guys happily fuzzing by me at a very good clip only to be stopped by a horde of RCMP whose pen must have been smoking writing all those excessive speed tickets. They all got nailed by the overhead buzzard doing time/distance calculations and then have the whole bunch sitting at the next convenient spot to write and write and write the BIG BUCKS paper.
No radar detector will help you on this one.
