how long can one put up with this hell?
hmmmm so i left davis (apt. sitting for a friend) and headed out towards berkeley monday around 12
got there in good time, around an hour and spent another hour desperately searching for somewhere to park (i swear the fools may be geniuses... but they can't drive for crap)
after giving up and wasting gas i headed for the parking structure
met a 16 year old genius in my class and darted for work after class ended
thought i was gonna die on the drive back today
this commuting thing is truly no fun... music, nicotine, and water can only do so much ;[[
yo ibew you got any leads on some decent parking in berkeley ;]]
except for those that require getting a permit that is

Parking.
This is how I do it. Get there at 6:30 am and park below the stadium. Unlimited time parking.
Other than that park at Ashby bart ride to Berkeley and walk up Center st. stop at Starbucks and you are home.
Bart is the easiest. $9 a day across from Spieker pool

Engine is proportionate to the frame ;-)
Sounds like this arrangement is better than the alternatives.

Where abouts do you live?
I live in Carmichael near Marconi & Fair Oaks Blvd.
I wouldn\'t ride my bike either if I were you!

Oh, that\'s not far away. Are you interested in
meeting for coffee sometime when Kevin (ibew595) comes to town? Ian is going to join us, and I have agreed pay for mochas/coffee ;-) We\'ll probably meet at the Starbucks at Manzanita & Fair Oaks Blvd., by BelAir.

I knew Ian, the poor college student, needed help,
so I might as will buy a couple more. Don\'t know when it will happen, but it will be on a weekend. Kevin will keep us posted here.

Wow, from parking hell to Mochas!
Ding, we have another Mocha lover DiS.
Any weekend in July with the exception of the 11th(sun) and the 31st(sat) someone may name the date and time. PLEASE not before 10:30am! It is still a good 80 mile drive for me. But then again at 95mph....
DiS what is your car?

Alas, a bit smaller car than yours...
I have a 2000 328Ci; Topas Blau Metalik. Except for the ECIS cold air intake, it's pretty much bone stock. With the exception of the days I lose the arm wrestling match with my spouse and she gets to drive it, I love it!
Yes, Ibew, from parking hell to mochas. The paid parking downtown and death defying ride on a bike line always gets the babes! ;-{0

How about 7/24 or 7/25?
I have my 30 year class reunion (I know, I\'m old ;-) on 7/24, so I know we\'ll be in town for sure. Hopefully if we decide on 7/25 I won\'t be too hung over. Yeah, right, like these reunions are so exciting. 10:30 is OK w/me.
