How does one get a job in Formula 1?

... Either for FIA, for one of teams, as part of the driver's entourage, etc. The only remote connection I have is that one of my friends here is a good friend of Alex Yoong who drove for Minardi two years ago :) Through him we got backstage at the USGP a couple years ago and met his wife ex Miss Malaysia. The perks are nice.

Assuming you know all there is to know about racing, racing stats, etc. Do you:

1. Schmooze your way in through your high-powered connections?
2. Get a PhD and work your way in as a physicist or mechanic?
3. Monster.com
4. ?
