That's the one!! Mine had Holden front discs

but the rear drums used to be useless because of blown axle seals, and she would warp the front rotors because they were the only brakes pulling her up.

Oh, the engine.....what an animal. I've only ever driven a diesel with as much stump-pulling torque as a w motor. Even with the lumpy solid cam my old 409 would still pull away from 1000rpm in fourth with no farting or labouring.

Hope you like the link - love your E31 BTW.

1973 Chevy Monte Carlo (Green) I was 15 years old

With a white half landau top, 350 small block tilt wheel, am/fm cassette, I crashed that poor car 5 times, the fifth one did it in.

Re: Great link! Us older guys know...

...on the street "There is no substitute for cubic inches". After the 409, my next car, a 69 Chevelle SS396 w/ 350hp seemed so tame that I swapped in a 454 cu.in. 425 HP. from a vette. With the addition of headers, hi-rise manifold, Holley 850 double pumper with mechanical secondaries(most of the "kids" reading this don't have a clue what we're talking about)and 4:10 gears that car had TORQUE! Oh for the good old days when $1000 could fill your trunk with speed parts. Now a $1000 worth of speed parts doesn't fill a shopping bag!!!

We're so old we remember how to "set points" with a dwell meter!!

    Have a great one!!<br/>
