How to register a modified car in San Fran?
My Bimmer is stock, so I don't expect a problem with that, but I also have a car with an engine swap (yes, it's a Honda :)
How do I go about getting that car registered? The SMOG check station refused to even test it. They said that I would have to get the stock engine put back in! Which I don't have... Also, he said that couldn't even sell the car in Cali. So... There must be a way around this; otherwise I don't see how cali can be the center of car culture.

1.Lots of money
2.Lots of money
3.You are !#%^^&$$&^&*ed unless you find someone dishonest which is tough to do with the smog check system we have.
4.Find some ricers and see what they do and where they go.

:) I already put the feelers out
on some 'ricer' boards. Unfortunately, the traffic there has been slow in the last year or so. Oh well. I might have to ship it back to Chicago and have my buddy sell it for me. Damn. That was a fun little toy to goof around with. I'm holding out some hope though. There are a bunch of guys out here with similar cars, there MUST be a way. I'm hoping for an honest one... ...

It's an enthusiasts board; so here it is :)
The car is totally plane looking on the outside. With the suspension work, the car is lower than stock, and the windows are tinted, but there’s no carbon fiber, or stickers :)
It gets 30 MPG and is good for low 14’s in the quarter, but it was built to be an SCCA autocross car; then I got the M… I’m actually thinking that I will probably try to sell the Honda. I did some research to find out how I could register it in Cali. It’s possible, but I would nee to put another $2k or so into it. Not really worth it. I think it’s just time to move on and sell it off.
My car was technically a stripped DX, but I have put in AC, Cruise Control, Power Locks, Acura Integra Seats, sound proofing, and some stereo equipment (not a ton).
Here's a quick and dirty list of what the car has (roughly 200 crank HP, maybe 150 or so ft-lbs of torque, give or take).
Custom Machined Short Shifter
JDM B18C, and ECU
DC Sports 4-2-1 Header
AEM Cold Air Intake
Apex-i World Sport Exhaust
Walboro fuel pump
AEM Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
Acura Integra GSR front brake conversion
Brembo Direct Replacement Rotors F&R
Porterfield R4S Brake Pads, and shoes F&R
Goodridge SS brake lines F&R
Integra 1" Master Cylinder
Home made Poly Urethane motor mounts
2.5" Carsound Catalytic Converter
KYB AGX shocks
Rogue Engineering Coil Over Suspension
Energy Suspensions poly urethane bushing set
