Dealer/Garage in Fairfield & New Haven, CT

Can anyone recommend a good BMW dealer for service in Fairfield or New Haven counties? Is there anyone I should avoid? I'm looking at a used e46 M3, and would like to get the car inspected, and hopefully find someone I can stick with for ongoing service needs.

Also, can anyone recommend an independent garage in the area that does good work with BMWs?

    Thanks

Just want the car inspected before I buy it by a BMW shop that knows their stuff and is particularly familiar with the M3. Also, it sounds like there may be a recall shortly on the S54, so want to get acquainted with a good service department. From what I've seen on some of the other forums, Competition & Sports in Greenwich and maybe BMW of North Haven are the better places to go (???).

The independent garage is just for future reference.

Country BMW in Watertown is a dealership with a pretty good service dept. One of their VPs use to race an E30 M3 who has probably moved up to an E46 by now.

Firstfives.org lists D'Agostino Brothers in Stamford as the CT Independent shop but I have never been there.

D'Agostino Bros. Doesn't Want your Business!

I want to have the clutch delay valve taken off my e46 M3, so I called this guy a month ago to ask if he knew how to do that. He had no idea what I was talking about, although he claims to be a BMW specialist. I described what the CDV was and what removing it entailed. At some point I did say that it was a roughly 20 minute job, plus bleeding the clutch. I told him I would come down there at some point with the directions to review.

I went down there today with the excellent DIY directions on m3.madrussian.net, thinking I would just make sure he was comfortable with doing the job, and get an estimate. I introduced myself, told him why I was there, and he actually remembered having spoken to me. I pulled out the directions. Well, he refused to look at the directions, and told me flat out to go to the dealer! I was momentarily stunned, and then asked him directly "are you telling me you don't want to do it?" He started mumbling something about me saying it was a 15 minute job, and that he had too much work.

This SOB is looking for sheep. Dumb and blind people who come in and don't question paying an hour and a half labor for a 20 minute job. I would strongly urge anyone who values honesty in a mechanic to avoid D'Agostino Bros in Stamford, CT!
