Congratulations Team Canada!!!
What a great display of hockey domination by Team Canada and what a great team put together by Wayne Gretzky. Truly some of the current and future hockey legends: Lemieux, Sakic, Brodeur, Iginla, Lacavalier, Heatley, St. Louis. Wow. There were some tense moments during the tournament but Canada got it done.

Too bad the trophy is so butt ugly.

Hooray for Canada! What a battle... the Fins +
are a tough team. They definitely play the N. A. style. What a great group of players on that list. Would have been great to have Todd Bertuzzi on this team. But what impressed me was the play of the lesser known player Shane Doan. I don't get to see much of him in the East coast, but this guy's solid player. Now, that trophy is the most grotesque in sports. What an eyesore. The guy who created it offered a redesign... I guess he finally realized how ugly it was.

The future looks bright.
It's a little sad to see the "old timers" like Lemieux, Chelios, Yzerman, et al playing their last international tournaments but the future looks bright with all of these sensational young players, especially for Canada.
My buddies here don't really watch or know hockey but I have enjoyed telling them that unlike basketball, the countries that play hockey around the world are the most balanced in terms of competitiveness. That makes tournies like the World Cup so fun to watch. I say it's different than basketball because of the great effort in Athens by the Dream Team. Tee, hee, hee.
Here's another picture of the ugliest trophy in sport and the man who designed it. He's a world famous architect. I'd hate to live in a house he designed or I'd probably be living in a giant replica of a turd. This trophy is horrible. (Figures, he's from Toronto. ;-))

K, people up here in T.O. were going nuts...
honking horns...I guess people here are so starved for any champion..since the Leafs won't be bringing one home any time soon. The wait continues. Just looking for some sympathy. :-)

Luckily I've got yesterday's game on DVD.
If it was on VHS I'd wear it out playing it over and over while this lockout tortures us. I'll be looking for some DVD's of the Salt Lake City Olympic hockey. My team of hacks will gladly work as NHL scabs. We'd probably get about 15 fans to watch any given night.
You've got my sympathy, brother. Sad, truly sad.
