Well Men, my anemometer either blew off +
the roof mount, or quit working, as the last recorded wind spd was a gust of 76 mph. Our 24' X 22' high stack of Andersen windows in the window wall are "singing" as they bow in the wind, and sheeted with rain, which is leaking in and popping up the wood floor boards. And, our Daylight/above ground freaking basement is leaking from the water sheeting down the window wall above and capillary action into above the basement floor. My rain gauge shows 7" Today, thus far, and Ivan the mofo, is not really on us,yet. The towns next door: Canton, NC and Clyde,NC are devasted from last week's Frances and now about to be washed away, literally, into the Pigeon River.
Not complaining, but I'm 5000 fooking feet above sea level: if the water gets here, it's the end of the freaking world. Generac generator is running, keeping the joint working; APC Backup UPS to dodge the outs. Bucket brigade in the
basement...I need a joint in some benign/pleasant part of the ol'USA. Maybe it's jes'me. Mother Nature is p issed. If we don't slide down the fooking Mtn tonight, I'll check in tomorrow. Batten down the fooking hatches. UncleMotor, (scared). David

Stay dry, stay safe +
We're gonna get it tonight or in the morning...most forecasts are calling for between 4" to 8" between now and late Saturday. That could really cause some damage in the hills and valleys of good ol' WV depending on how and where it comes down.
I've been thinking about getting a Generac now for some time...hope I don't need it before I can get it!
Regardless, I wish you the best. May God bless you and keep you safe from the storm.
Mike

Good luck MD, BRP looks pretty bad
I was in your neck of the woods the day before Francis hit Western NC. Had a great day on the Blue Ridge Parkway (Asheville to Cherokee). Hard to believe that large portions of the BRP have washed away. Best luck, stay dry and tune your weather radio in.
-At least you don’t live in the valley :)
