Woops! I made it!
I blasted off about 9AM and made it up to PIR in time for lunch. This was helped a little by the fact that the traffic flow from Tucson through Phoenix is about about 90 mph. I begged and pleaded a bit, several of the instructors and organizes (Rick, Karol, Joe, Alex, and Bern) gave me the high sign and came up with a game plan to help me catch up. I had missed two track periods and a couple of classes by then. I completed the registration process between classes and track time on Saturday and Sunday. You're right, what a blast. This was a first for me also and I learned more in two days than over the prior fifty years. This was truly a well organized event with a great bunch of folks. I'm really glad I took the chance and ran up there.
I'll be registerd early for the one at Firebird raceway in January.

Yes, total novice, group D.
Both of my instructors, M3 drivers, had difficulty helping me find the right line with the heavier car, but by the end of day two, we had worked it out so that the fat beast was getting around pretty good. It didn't look the like the chap in group A with the M5 was having any trouble at all. Wow!
