Update on the 10/24 drive to Volcano
As mentioned earlier, our local club is sponsoring a drive to St. George's Hotel in Volcano on the 24th. We'll be meeting at the Ranch Cordova K-Mart on Sunrise (corner of Sunrise & Coloma) at 9:00, and will leave promptly at 9:30. We'll be heading up HW50 to the Missouri Flat Park 'n Ride to pick up some add'l cars. Lunch is at 12:00. FYI all those participating will have to sign a waiver required by the club. That's for insurance reasons.
Choices for lunch are: Eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, lunch salad w/ or w/o chicken and cheeseburger w/fries or salad. A small house salad may also be purchased. Drinks & dessert can be ordered off the menu. I suggest you bring along cash to make the bill-paying easier ;-)
If you are interested in attending, please let me know by the 19th, and be sure to include what you'd like to eat.
So far I have 30 people/15 cars registered. It should be a fun drive through the foothills!

Nice. I saw an M6 advertised in the Sac Bee last
weekend. They want $16K for it. I won't be buying another car until the boys are out of college.

wow, i've seen m6's as low as 10k but that's it...
well, remember my friend who was in the market for a car?
his wife saw some pictures of the 6 and said NO NO NO NO NO
it's too old blah blah blah
heh heh
i was in sac for a bit yesterday and he FINALLY sold his vw golf
so they had a rental car until they bought one
i'm looking through auto trader and some guy is 11 miles away with a white 635CSi
i said what the hell, let's check it out at least
my girlfriend / friend / friend's wife / and i rush out the door
in the parking lot sat a BEAUTIFUL machine, with 2 minor flaws which are fixable
i took the test drive and it was quite awesome...
then my friend's wife took a test drive, when she came back she had a big smile on her face and all that crap about the "old old old car" kinda just disappeared
in the end they broke the guy down to 4400 for an 86 635CSi with 129,000 miles on it
i honestly think it's a good deal :)
hope you guys have fun on the drive!
midterms... projects... work... ugh

Yes Viv I think this is for me..
Insert 1 large automobile into the group as long as no one is a E38 hater. Also include 2 burgers and fries for 2x.
Ian, are you going??

Great! One other 7'er will be joining us. You'll
have some company. We'd still welcome you anyway.

sure they all say that.
I think my computer is dying. Roadfly is taking forever to download. I estimate the speed to be 12kbs. No spyware or viruses either. Must be too many missing files.

Unfortunately, I will not be joining T.T
i have a midterm due the week after which will NOT be fun...
1 mandatory question
the second question we choose out of 2 questions
UGH
oh yeah, you gotta love when they say, "try not to go over 5 pages... PER QUESTION"
so basically this "take-home" midterm is a paper in disguise
i fear the dreaded "take-home" final for the same class, as well as the "take-home" final in my major pre-requisite class
sounds like you guys will be having fun though!
you must've been busy lately kevin, haven't seen you hitting up the board heh heh

I had to re-image one of my work computers today.
Luckily it was a fairly painless deal.

Threaten to reformat, then the thing starts to...
work again....arugh...
unplugged my modem and it seemed to work.
Unsettled weather for the weekend, luckily there is traction control and Grey Poupon in my car...
Viv, did I talk to you about your license plate rattling when we met? I can bring the sticky foam stuff if needed.

the great thing about school computers is
they are all pretty much the same in terms of software installed and components (at least when bought in big batches)
i was a computer techie at my high school and when one computer went bad we just ripped out the hard drive, popped it in the "clean" computer in the office and re-imaged the sucker
came back from lunch and it was allll done
i forgot the program name but it was very useful
hmmm sam's club has a killer deal on a WD 250 gig hard drive
they want something like 130 bucks for it
VERY tempting as i'm growing out of my 80 + 120 gig WDs
these are such great hard drives :)

Hey, we'll have a good time no matter what.
I heard on last night's news it wasn't suppose to rain tomorrow. It's raining now so I'm going out to wash the car. Gotta have a clean car for tomorrow!
