Welcome to both places!
Do you live in Santa Cruz? We love to visit Capitola. Generally we head there for Thanksgiving, but things changed this year. How do you like the E60s?

Re: Welcome to both places!
Cheers Viv!
It sounds as though you are familiar as any local! Indeed, I do live in Santa Cruz - coincidentally more near Capitola (i.e. S.C. East side near pleasure point area...)
Love the E60's, albeit had a 2000 E39 so I was already "sold" on BMW.
Was just in your "capitol" city last week. Went to see a show at the Crest Theater! Great area of town - I liked it!
Cheers for now! ;-)iDriveyguy

Rich indeed!
Rich with foolishness! I figured a mortgage, credit card debt student loans (yes I'm still paying for them), and an exisiting car loan wasn't enough! So like any well-educated, smart American I decided what better thing to do than buy TWO cars I can barely afford and continue living beyond my means!

Re: Economics of course...
Me a Chef?
If gourmet cooking involves a microwave, toaster or a phone number for take out, then yes indeed I am a Chef!
Din't marry Rich either.... He was already taken! Doh! ;-)
So sure Viv, if ya want me to whip up some Eggo waffles, Top Romin, hot dogs, etc. for the next meeting... I'm your Man!
Cheers all! iDriveyguy

Eggos, uh? ;-)
On the weekends hubby is the designated cook. That means it's cook's choice -- take out, cook in, BBQ, freezer food, or whatever. I cook during the week and on the weekends he gets to decide what we're going to eat. So, if the chef says eggos or hot dogs, then I guess we're eating that! But, there's always Zelda's in Capitola. Nice view and pretty good food ;-)

Re: My kind of food (long response from iDriveguy)
It's like this...
My significant other and I were looking to purchase a second home in Palm Springs this summer. After several road trips down & back we determined for as often as we visit (even if we owned property there) we'd NEVER get $1,300/mo. "use" out of a second home. After serious considerations we figured at most we might go down 1 or 2 times a month (even that's a stretch).
We decided even if we went down 3 times a month and stayed at a resort we'd never spend $1,300 - So we decided (here comes the warped logic) that spending $1,300/mo. on cars to DRIVE down to Palm Springs whenever we wanted was a much more "intelligent" use of funds. (As iDriveguy says this with a straight face). Hence one Alpine & one Sapphire.
I think you (and perhaps most here) can relate; I'm a "car guy". Yes, I know it's the worst possible "investment" a person can make as far as equity goes. But I like cars. They make me happy - it's the "child" in me. I don't want to grow up and cars are the "toys" I can still play with and not be told that I'm "too old for that".... 8-)
P.S.
I did get a bit of a "deal" when buying 2. The dealer agreed to give me a decent discount if I agreed to purchase 2 (side note: I also did the over seas delivery program since I vacationed in Europe in August thus resulting in more of a "sure thing" for the DEALER). Anywho, the best part was at the time I ordered in Munich 2005 pricing had not been set - when the cars arrived in September the 2005 pricing went up $1,500 per car. I refused to pay this amount so the dealer honored their original discount plus "ate" the $3,000 for both cars. So I feel like I got a better deal than I bargained for.

Re: Eggos, uh? ;-)
You THINK I'm kidding... But I'm not. ;-)
You would just die (like most do) when they visit my home - Three-quarters of my kitchen storage is vacant and my fridge still has the "new plastic" aroma inside due to lack of use! Doh!
P.S.
While it sounds like you're well versed on the Santa Cruz area, if you ever want some suggestions for great places to dine let me know! ;-)iDriveyguy
