    Purchasing a 1999 740il / question

    Hey Folks!

Great board here! This is my first post.

I am about to purchase a 1999 740il. It has 66,500 miles on it. Can you tell me what mileage is the next major tune-up supposed to be?

Also, how is the Antracite Blue paint? I don't see this color around very often and was wondering how it holds up?

Is there anything I should watch out for at 66,500 miles. I like the dealer and he is accommodating me, so I'd like to see if there is something else I should ask for.

    Thanks!

    Michael

Check the maintenance lights on the car to see how many green lights are left. On my '99 740il, usually one light will go off every 2000 miles, and then either oil service or inspection I or II. The best thing you can ask the dealer for is an extended warranty as these are expensive to repair after the warranty expires. Have fun.

    Anthracite Metallic

Holds up as nicely as any other color. It's not called blue, though... it's called Anthracite or Anthracite Metallic.

As suggested, check out www.e38.org for more information.

The first car in line is a 1999 Anthracite Metallic 740iL. (M.Mar's)

(Blues include Biarritz, Midnight, Orient, Steel...)

    M.Wong
    E38 2000 740iL Orient Blue

    E39 2003 540i/6 Sterling Gray (European Delivery)

E30 1987 325i Royal Blue (Passed on to a new family.)

24K tax and license included. IF dealer...

does ALL the work I'm asking. They will have the sport rims, but it is not a sport package I believe.
