Where is the cage?

You need to remove some weight from the car too by gutting the interior. Prepared allows for bigger brakes. Are you thinking BMWCCA Club Racing?

Sorry, I should have been more specific...

Is there anything currently on the car that does not meet regulations? I realize that I would add some things, safety equipment specifically), but I want to make sure that nothing here would need to be removed/changed.

Thanks for the comments so far though. I will need to look at the seats. I think they are 'street racer' seats, meaning that they are not true racing seats.

Seats have a cert? If not they have to be braced.

BMP RSM's are urethane? Can't be monoball/heim joints. The rest is fine.

Legal YES, competitive NO - likely the guy (m)

will want more than the car is worth as a donor car for a race car. All that angel eyes and street racer crap you can just pull off and sell individually. The 144k motor is a risk. The cams and intake and software you'll keep, but without the intake plenum and injectors you're not necessarily going to get the benefit out of them. You'll want to sell/ditch the current suspension. Basically you're going to sell a lot of crap and buy a lot of crap no matter which donor car you buy. Might as well start out with a lower miles, stock M3 that is available for $10k +/- and go from there. If the car had a cage in it that changes things but this one doesn't...

You should check out the "for sale" pages on http://www.bmwccaclubracing.com/forsale/forsale.htm

Just my $0.02.
Cheers,
Mike
