ouch! need auto body shop in northern calif

while parked in a parking lot a ford 4x4 truck backed up onto my hood and right front fender - the sound of crunching metal is not a good thing.

need recommendations on body shops in bay area: i live in palo alto.

Bee Line is San Jose is highly recommended. They work mainly on BMWs with some Porsches and MBs thrown in. If the insurance company is a low buck operation they may quibble on the cost but they are oblingated to return it to condition prior to accident. My carrier was a good insurance company that partnered with BMW NA but was purchased by a company that really watched the pennies. My broker went to bat for me... this is harder to do when it's an agency relationship.

They know their stuff and do it right. Had my E34 front end/hood done by them. Also had major collision damage to a family member's 633CSi repaired there.

It was a few years ago, but they did some sweet work and a complete glass out paint job on my 6er, still looks amazing after 10 years! These guys used to do the paint work for Dinan, when their main shop was also in MV before moving to Morgan Hill. They are behind Allison (now Mountain View BMW) and may even do work for them too! Give 'em a shout :)
