Can I load windows xp which came with my wifes Dell (have disk) onto another computer or is it computer specific. Win.98 sucks.

I was just about to turn the lights out here and
go to bed.
You know that's not legal, right? I would say if the disks are MS XP by itself, and not part of a Dell restore CD of sorts, then you should be able to load it. But, I don't know what will happen if you try to register it w/MS a second time, or what will happen when the second computer goes out to get updates, etc.

Trying to sleep at work, can ya keep it down?
Oh, by the way, Bobbo/BA/80/633 is now Grnshrk.
This is a reflection on my bimmer, a 633 CSi painted in dark green metallic, Cypress Green to be exact.
BTW Viv, I'll be seeing Wynn, weather permitting, in 2 weeks for a day 6er run in Marin. We have like 30 cars signed up! The organizer is a bit worried...
Later!
Cheers, Bob

Sorry, just seeing if this thing works ;-)
Say Hi to Wynn for me. He missed the last club meeting. Where is the group driving to in Marin? At the last meeting the Prez looked at me and asked where we were going next. I'm not the activities director, but told her I'm thinking of a drive down the delta and lunch at a marina. Not many people take interest in making up drives, etc.
I like your new name ;-)

No activities coordinator here either :(
I don't know the area very well, but I can tell you that we are starting in Marinwood, which is on the 101 freeway. From there we are heading West, can't go too far bacause of a big body of water in our way, the Pacific Ocean! Basically wind our way around for a couple of hours, stop for some photos ops, then wind up at a place called Rancho Nicasio (sp) for a midday meal. This is preplanned, with all attendees selecting from a 4 item menu beforehand. This helps greatly. After that, more BS and most people head out by mid afternoon. I'll be staying in the area for the evening, so the party will continue for me ;-)
I'll be sure and say hello to Mr. Winfield for you, as it's always a pleasure to see him and Patti.
I'm sure you guys can do some decent drives from Sac town, either towards the delta or the foothills. Somebody just needs to take the ball and run with it!
BTW, stayed in Jackson over new years, don't think I'll ever stay in the National Hotel again :( This is a 150 year old establishment with many of its fixtures that old too. Unfortunately, I'm referring to things like plumbing, lighting, you get the idea. Plus they permit smoking in the lobby (lounge), if you can believe that. Thought you could use the heads-up on that place...
Well, now that I'm awake, time for lunch!
Cheers, Bob

We have one, but it's nice when people
volunteer with some ideas. Your trip sounds like fun. When I put the Volcano drive together, the hotel had us choose 4 items ahead of time like what you're doing. Sure made it a lot easier once we got there. Food was ready for us.
Thanks for the hotel heads-up. I won't recommend it to anyone. We usually just do a drive through when in that area. Did you get to the casino? We went there once and couldn't stand all the smoke and must have left within 45 minutes. Saved us some money ;-)

Updates??????
Whatcha talkin'bout Willis?
Once it goes on it never goes back. In the 5 years with the current computer I may have gotten updates a couple of times only becuase I was fighting a virus problem. Maybe I should just get a new computer. My car is faster than this thing.

You don't get the big boys toys......
without being cheap.
Actually I never need a high powered computer. Internet surfing and word processing only. no games, music or anything else.
Web & Word

thanks kev, it's good to be back
i suggest you buy a new computer, nothing fancy
maybe an early model amd xp 2000 or faster
it's nice to be able to surf with a little speed
you can probably build a budget machine for less than 400
maybe even 300 or below if you cut massive corners
or, you can let me build it =D
heh heh, i love building computers

Hey Viv, check out this place for a destination...

Been there many times with my family, never with the Club.
They have a great Brunch on Sunday's.
I think you would enjoy it,
Keith

Re: Thanks. I've heard OK things about the Ryde.
Yes Viv, it's an OK place, BUT it's also a great DESTINATION and I think the Brunch is good on Sunday's.
OR, try Wine & Roses Country Inn in Lodi, AWESOME place and GREAT food (brunch).
My Wife and I were married there in 1990 and it's grown quite a bit in the last 15 1/2 years.
It's a beautiful place.
Keith (just trying to give you an idea)
