Need info on BMW racing in Portland

I am looking to move to Portland later this year, and am starting to look for a job. I have a degree in mechanical engineering and a love of BMWs. I currently work as a technician at an independent BMW shop on the East Coast. I am looking for any information on (reasonably) local shops in the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area. My brother already started his own BMW race shop in the Washington, D.C. area (Road Race Technologies,) but I would sooner break both thumbs with a ball peen hammer than move up there. Please let me know if any of you have any info.

    Thanks!

Re: Need info on BMW racing in Portland

There are a number of good independent BMW shops around Portland. I can't say any of them specialize in racing, but some have participated in preparing or maintaining local race cars.

You might have more luck lokking for shops that do race prep and engineering, I know there are some in the Portland area but they are not BMW focused.

Here's a few of the larger BMW shops, most of the others I can think of are basically one-man operations. You can get phone numbers from DexOnline. I have no idea if they are looking for help --

    AutoHaus Bayern (Beaverton)
    Pacific Motorsports (Portland)
    Salzmann's (Wilsonville)

There are also 2 dealers, Kuni and Rasmussen.

    Thanks for info...

I found the independent shops, and am now also looking into non-BMW specific race shops (good advice.) They may want a BMW specialist. Any suggestions?
    Thanks again
