Painting/Restoring Chrome around Windows 535is
I am looking to restore or paint (black) my chrome trim around my four windows on my 535is. Does anyone know how to get the dull chrome shiney again. Or should I just paint it black. If so, what is the procedure for paining it black and does it last if painted? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again

Hey good question! I searched the Detail forum>
but couldn't find anything...Was gonna ask the ? in here...
My car, I'm picking up tomorrow will need a ton of cosmetic work...
For now I'd like to just clean em up and get the chrome right...Then when I have the car sprayed in the spring, maybe blackout the trim.
I'm not tense, I'm just terribly, terribly alert.

Re: you can replace the part or paint it black
the design on this is really bad, the chrome inside the plastic
turns brown, then black. if you wait long enough, it will go black.
this is about a $60.00 parts job to do the front and back. you need a special tool - look on bavauto.com. or paint it black. my cars have the real chrome strip trim as well so you are stuck since you can not paint that black?
