Anybody know a good shop for a head job?

And no funny comments either!! LOL.
I have a 94' 530 with either a cracked or warped head, or possibly a bad gasket. It overheated and now I want to get the work done. I live in Inglewood. I haven't lived in LA that long. I was thinking of either South Bay Independent BMW in Gardena or Swiss Motors in Culver City.
Does anyone have any experience with these shops, or can you recommend someone who can do the work? I already talked to Grabers in Santa Fe Springs and they said around $3000-$3500. It shouldn't be that much.

If you need a new head, here's some places that...

sell rebuilt heads and also performance heads:

Top End in North Hollywood: http://www.racetep.com/INDEXX.html
Top End sells the head and also does installations.

    Metric Mechanic: http://www.metricmechanic.com/index.html
MM is in Kansas City, so you could buy the head from them and ship it to your installer.

    Bavarian Engine Exchange: http://www.bavengine.com/
Like MM, you'd buy the head and ship it to your installer.

    VAC Motorsports: http://www.vacmotorsports.com/cgi-bin/view_cat.pl?cat=Engines+-+Racing

If you just need a new head gasket, buy the parts from BMA Autoparts: http://www.bmaautoparts.com/
and then have your mechanic install.
