    Needing help with Tire Sizes

I'm new to the BMW family and I am needing some help with buying the correct tire sizes for my 98 740IL. I purchased the can and I immediately purchased a new set of M-Parallel wheels for the car. The fronts are 8" deep and the backs are 9" deep and they are all 18" wheels.

I was told to put 277/35's on the back, but I am not sure what size I should put on the front. Any suggestions? I know that if you do not have the fronts and backs very close to the same height, the traction control system kicks in and you cannot get above 40 MPH.

I would appreciate any help with tire sizes from the experienced. Even if I have to change out the 275/35's in the rear to another size, I can do that. I just need to know the best setup.

    Thank you for your help,
    Kirk

275-35-18s are too small. I run 275-40-18s on my wheels and 245 fronts. You have to be careful to get matching hieght tires or the (traction control) wheel sensors will go haywire.

Re: Needing help with Tire Sizes

I have the 8 inch and 9.5 inch M-P. and went with the 255's in the front and the 285/40/18 in the rear. I have the sport model and there is no rubbing and those 285 in the rear are a perfect match in the height .
