Need opinions on the ugly oil in my 3.0 CS
My most recent 73 3.0 CS was purchased with oil that was contaminated with anti-freeze. Low mile car with original 1973 head, I just assumed it had a bad head gasket or cracked head. Pulled it apart and found the head gasket looked pretty good, and no obvious cracks in the original head. Anti freeze was clean. Car had low
compression on #5 cylinder, but it came up when the car was warm.
It ran fine when warm. Two freeze plugs were partially pushed out,
but not all the way. I was wondering where we should check for a cracked block. Or is that a silly thought?
Many thanks, Jim Schrager, South Bend, IN

Pressure test the head or even get it magnafluxed. You may have a crack that only opens when the engine is warm.
