I'm here! Just quiet.
A couple of us have met at least once.
Hey Bob, chatted w/Wynn & Patti at the annual mtg on Sat. night. Patti told me about checking out a truck for you. How'd that work out?

Checking out a truck? Yeah, like 2 years ago!
Literally 2 years ago, I had Wynn check out a Dakota for me up in... forget what city it was. Anyway, couldn't find what I wanted down here (V6 with a 5 speed), came up with one that filled the bill. So I had Wynn do the inspection for me, had a great time, told me that I should buy it and that I owed him a beer. Well, still have the truck and still owe him that beer!
On another note, many of the 6er bunch will be meeting in Palm Springs in a couple of weeks, so I'll be hooking up with those 2 once again. Looking forward to having a great time!
Thanks for asking ;-}
Cheers, Bob

You know how it is, good stories never die ;-)
Wynn told me about the up-and-coming trip. Sounds like fun, but lots of work for the coordinators. Weather should be nice.

I'm dying to take a trip SOMEWHERE ;[
I was thinking of hitting up socal during Spring break, good way to get out of norcal and to visit some friends I haven't seen in a while.
But bah this timing belt bzness!!! Ahhhhhhh, I was quoted for 3 hours of labor which = 270 bucks. I think I'll be able to do this one alone, although it'll take a good 3-5 hours as I'll be doing the belt, water pump, tensioner, etc. Might as well, they're all in the same area. My parents want me to get it done at a shop though.
My current belt was installed on 7/31 of 2000 roughly 26,000 miles ago. BMW says they should be replaced every 4 years or 50,000 miles. The guys on the e28 board said I should do it soon... This is what I get for having an oldy, but she's definitely a goody :)
How's Sac been treating you Viv? Your son should be getting his acceptance letters soon!!! =D
Now.... Where's KEV!?
Have fun on your trip GrnSharko!

Tell your parents you'll take it to the shop if
they pay for it ;-)
Son just got a "conditional acceptance" letter from Cal Poly. He needs to fill out some more forms, provide a transcript once he's graduated and he's in! We're going to visit the school over Spring break so he can check it out. He's still not 100% sure he wants to go there. We'll see how the visit goes.

Congrats! They will pay for it if I take it to a
shop, but still...
If I'm capable of DIY'ing I'd like to. Not just saves money, teaches me about the car as well! :)
The UCs should be sending out letters VERY soon as well. Oops, I forgot It's all online now... My how things have changed in the last 4 years.
Once again I must spend the day at the library. It just so happens to be another beautiful day too.
Off I go ;[

Thx Ian! Depart for Palm Springs in 1.5 weeks :)
Well, 11 days, but who's counting...
May even stay an extra day and come back on Monday. There is a lengthy drive planned for Sunday, and then I would have to hoof it back to the bay area, all in one day! I may like to drive the green shark, but that's a lotta time in the saddle :( Plus it would be much more relaxing to do the Monday thing than push it back on Sunday, dealing with about a million other people thru Pacheco pass...
Hope you can break away too Ian!
Cheers, Bob
