Seat and steering column predicament?

I recently purchased a 2001 740iL and have developed a problem with the power driver’s seat and the steering column not working. I have the seat, mirror and steering wheel option. When pushing the memory buttons on the door the mirrors will move appropriately but the steering column will not descend and the seat will not move. The electric power seat buttons on the side of the driver’s seat will not move the seat and the electric steering wheel adjustment on the side of the wheel will not move the column. The fuses have been checked and are fine. Is it possible to have hit the wrong combination of buttons on the key and/or the memory buttons on the door? The alarm went off just prior to the crisis. Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated.

Does the seat move with you using the seat adjustment buttons. Not the memory button? Contact me via email and I will give you more diagnosis.

I had the same problem a while back. They replaced the ignition swith and it's worked fine since.
