North Cascades Highway Tour
On May 7th BMWCCA Puget Sound Region is conducting a drive over the North Cascades Hwy....we will go to Winthrop and Group 1 will return via the North Cascades Hwy and Group 2 may choose to complete the loop via Hwy 2 over Stevens Pass....The North Cascades Hwy has had a record early opening this year and assuming it doesn't close again from these spring snowstorms it should be even more spectacular than usual.
We will leave from two collector points in the Seattle area (Totem Lake and Northgate) with both groups converging at Smoky Point then driving via Darrington to the North Cascades.
Please email your RSVP's and questions to Martin Hovenkotter at [email protected]
These tours are limited to 30 cars and fill up fast. Don't show up unless you've reserved a spot with the Tourmaster, Martin. Also be prepared to abide by the Club Tour Rules: No excessive speed, no racing, no passing in "no passing" zones. If you're looking for a road race then find another venue.

Re: North Cascades Highway Tour
My first BMW tour and it was GREAT! Spirited driving, minimal RV/campers/etc. on the road, and great views (both cars and natural). Last I heard 53 cars started the tour with 50 making it all the way to Winthrop (sun mt. lodge). Marty was an excellent tour guide. Organized, thoughtful, and great route selection. More commentary and photos on the BMW CCA Pugest Sound Region website (see bulletin boards - events). Looking forward to the next one in August!
